Time commitment before camp

To ensure full camp preparedness, counselors are required to attend all mandatory counselor meetings held from January to June, participate in their assigned committee-specific meetings, and be present for Camp Prep Days during the week before camp for setup and training.

Weeklong Camp Counselors

Does the thought of a s'more make you drool? Have you ever been asked why cows are sacred? Are you interested in changing the life of a child? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we have a fantastic opportunity for you!

At Bharatiya Hindu Temple Camp, our counselors take the lead in organizing the Camp with their own personal flair and enjoy being role models for a great group of campers.

This year we will be doing a weeklong camp with an overnight stay. All Camp activities are located at the Bharatiya Hindu Temple (see home page for directions).

Camp Dates: Monday, June 15th to Saturday, June 20th, 2026

Counselor PREREQUISITES

• Have completed their junior year of high school prior to camp start date

• Be willing and able to work with children ages 6 and up

• Have knowledge of or willingness to learn Hinduism-related topics to teach campers

• Attend all preparation meetings in person (no virtual options)

• Show responsibility, teamwork, and leadership qualities

• Be excited to contribute to camp and have fun!

Counselor Selection Process

Counselor positions are limited and highly competitive. Selections will be based on:

• Quality of Responses

• Availability

• Prior Experience
